Walther P22 Handgun

The Walther P22 is a semi-automatic pistol that looks like the Walther P99, but is 25% smaller. Distributed in the U.S. by Walther America, a joint venture between the German parent company and Smith & Wesson, the P22 uses .22 long rifle (LR) rimfire cartridges.

Except for the Walther P22 CA, all P22 handguns have an internally threaded barrel for attaching a sound suppressor or silencer. Gun buyers can choose the P22 with either a 3.4-inch or 5-inch barrel. Designed so that shooters can use either size barrel, the P22 is not the same handgun as the Walther SP22.

Although the original design of the Walther P22 experienced feed failures, the firearms manufacturer corrected this problem by redesigning the firearm’s feed ears and adding a slot for staggering rounds. Both A and B versions of the redesigned Walther P22 magazine are available.
