C-130 Hercules Cargo Aircraft

The C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft is designed to perform tactical airlift missions. In addition to airdropping personnel and equipment for combat operations, the C-130 can perform aeromedical, firefighting, aerial spraying, and emergency relief missions.

As a cargo aircraft, the C-130 features a flexible design so that the interior can be configured for different types of military missions. Types of cargo include floor-loaded materials, airdrop platforms, military vehicles, aeromedical evacuation equipment, and palletized equipment.

Built by Lockheed-Martin, the C-130 cargo aircraft has a robust power plant that lets it reach speeds as high as 417 mph. The C-130J is the newest version of this versatile airplane that can land on dirt runways anywhere in the world.
